As if shopping on dry land was not enough, Dubai residents can now buy groceries at sea as well.

Retail giant Carrefour has announced the launch of its sea store to serve yachts as well as beach goers in Dubai.

This is a first of its kind ‘sail thru’ Carrefour store, through which customers can order items to the beach or can personally collect them on a jet ski or a yacht. Innovative aqua pods will be used to deliver food to the beaches.

The market will be selling 300 items including hot and cold snacks, ice cream, beverages, fresh and dried foods, and non-food items such as sunscreen. The service will be available to customers on Kite Beach, Jumeirah Public Beach and Al Sufouh.

This service is open six days a week from 10am-6pm, depending on weather conditions.

Download the ‘Aqua Pod’ app to order your groceries from the floating store while at you are sat on the beach.
