At least 100 service centres across 40 government organisations closed their offices for a week from Sunday, 21 October and their payment services are only available online.
To further incentivise people to use the online services, the government has introduced a new initiative giving 100 per cent cash back to some lucky customers who are making digital payments this week.
Department of Finance, which is leading this initiative will give back up to Dhs 1 million to those chosen through an electronic raffle every day during the ‘week without service centre’ until 25 October. The daily cash back limit is restricted to Dhs 200,000 which means that the raffle draw will pick lucky customers until the amount hits the daily limit.
The lucky customers will be informed about their win through SMS and the money they paid will be returned to their registered account.
