2017 marked the fourth year in a row that Dubai International Airport (DXB) has been ranked as the world’s number one airport for international passengers. According to the annual traffic report, traffic at DXB reached an amazing 88.2 million travelers and averaging a 7.35 million a month! The record months were January, July and August when traffic surpassed the 8-million passenger mark.
This past year DXB welcomed six new passenger airlines including SalamAir, Air Moldova and Badr Airlines, while Emirates and flydubai added new passenger destinations.
Some of the top destination countries of 2017 for DXB include India at 12,060,435 passengers, Russia at 1,339,534 passengers, China at 2,212,179 passengers, and the top destination city remained as London with 4,011,598 passengers.
According to Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, traffic in 2018 is expected to reach 90.3 million!
