Skype is officially blocked in the UAE due to the illegal nature of the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Service under UAE Regulatory Framework, but Etisalat and Du are bringing you alternatives. Etisalat announced on Monday that for a fixed amount of Dhs 50 a month, users can make unlimited video calls to anywhere in the world using C’Me and BOTIM, which are also the only two calling apps currently legal in the UAE.
With Skype blocked, as well as other calling services including Facetime, Google Duo, and Whatsapp, users need to download either C’ME or BOTIM to make app to app calls.
The access to the service will be available for Etisalat subscribers at Dhs 50 for your mobile or Dhs 100 for e-Life plan subscribers. With the service anyone can make a call or video call anywhere in the world for no extra price.
