Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) facilitated 6.39 million passenger trips across its network during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday from 30 March to 1 April, demonstrating the city’s reliance on integrated and sustainable transport solutions for festive mobility.
Here's how RTA services catered to passengers during Eid holidays:
-
Dubai Metro: Dominated with 2.43 million passengers on Red and Green Lines.
-
Public buses: Transported around 1.33 million commuters to key destinations.
-
Taxis (Including Dubai Taxi and franchise operators): Recorded around 1.69 million bookings, catering to door-to-door demand.
-
Marine transport services: Saw 408,991 boardings across abras, ferries, and water taxis.
-
Shared mobility (e-hail, rentals, on-demand buses): Grew to 429,616 users, reflecting shifting preferences.
-
Dubai Tram: Served 111,130 passengers.
Enhanced services, including extended Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram hours and free parking, ensured smooth mobility during peak festive travel. The authority’s real-time monitoring via the S’hail app helped manage crowds.
