RTA Announces Service Timings During Eid Al-Fitr Holidays

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced operating hours for public transport and services during the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr holiday period. According to the official announcement by RTA, the updated operating hours for RTA services will be applicable from Saturday, 29 March to Wednesday, 2 April and normal operations will resume on Thursday, 3 April.

The exact dates for the Eid Al-Fitr public holidays have not been confirmed yet, with the possibility of it being extended until Wednesday, 2 April. It will be confirmed after the moon-sighting on 29 March. Check Connector's story here and here.

The affected services include Customer Happiness Centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram, marine transport and service provider centres (technical inspection).

Metro And Tram Services

The Dubai Metro's red and green lines will operate extended hours throughout the holiday period. On Saturday, 29 March, the red and green line services will run from 5am until 1am the following morning, with slightly later Sunday openings at 8am lasting until 1am next day. From Monday, 31 March to Wednesday, 2 April, the operating hours will be from 5am till 1am the following day.

The Dubai Tram will run from 6am to 1am the following day, on Saturday, 29 March and Monday, 31 March and on Sunday, 30 March, it will run from 9am till 1am the next day.

Bus And Marine Services

For bus commuters, several intercity routes will see temporary suspensions. The E100 route from Al Ghubaiba will pause operations from the afternoon of 28 Ramadan (28 or 29 March) through 3 Shawwal (1 or 2 April), with passengers redirected to the E101 service from Ibn Battuta Station to Abu Dhabi. The E102 Al Jafiliya to Abu Dhabi route will also suspend service during this period.

Public Parking And Service Centres

All public parking spaces except multi-story car parks will be free of charge during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday period, from 1 Shawwal (30 or 31 March) to 3 Shawwal (1 or 2 April). The normal fares will resume from 4 Shawwal, which will be either 2 or 3 April. 

Service provider centres and Customer Happiness Centres will close for the holiday period, though the smart Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kifaf and the RTA main building will remain operational around the clock. 

The RTA encourages residents and visitors to plan their Eid travels in advance, recommending use of the RTA Dubai app for live service updates during the holiday period
