Two expats, an Irish mother and a Yemeni salesman, were among 10 winners of cash prize for driving safely. Christine Mountain, a part-time teaching assistant and mother of tree, was surprised when confronted by a policeman on her to pick up her dry cleaning in a Dubai supermarket.
“The policeman asked me for my driver’s licence,” said the Irish expat, describing the moment when she had just parked her car. “I thought I was going to get arrested. But he laughed.”
Christine was then introduced to organisers of the road safety awareness campaign, Mobil 1 GoldStar Content, and handed her the prize money. The car oil firm is running the campaign in cooperation with local authorities in Dubai and Sharjah.
