A fire broke out at The Address Residence Fountain Views near the Burj Khalifa at around 5.30am according to eyewitnesses. The three 60-storey tower complex was expected to be completed by April 2018 which is owned by property developer Emaar. Dubai Media Office confirmed by 8.40am that the fire was put out by Dubai's Civil Defence team and cooling operations were underway to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby areas.
“Ambulance teams have been dispatched to the emergency site and no casualties have been reported yet,” said Dubai Media Office.

Motorists were urged to take alternative routes as main roads leading to Downtown Dubai have been partially closed. The authorities also closed off a section of Mohammad bin Rashid Boulevard from the cinema parking towards the flyover. The traffic from Intersection 7 leading to the Burj Khalifa were closed and traffic were diverted towards Fashion Avenue.
