In a coordinated move to boost road safety, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has led an extensive inspection campaign targeting delivery riders across the city. Conducted in partnership with Dubai Police and other government bodies, the initiative covered over 1,000 inspections in high-traffic areas such as Downtown Dubai, Jumeirah, and Dubai Motor City.
The campaign, aimed at tightening enforcement of delivery sector regulations, found a range of violations, from riders not wearing required protective gear to operating without proper training certification. Reckless driving was also flagged as a key concern, prompting authorities to impound 19 motorcycles on the spot.
RTA officials highlighted the campaign’s focus on creating a safer environment for both delivery riders and the wider public, underlining the long-term goal of a safer, more sustainable delivery network in Dubai.
In addition to inspections, RTA distributed QR codes linking delivery riders to safety training videos and educational materials as part of an ongoing push to raise awareness and prevent accidents before they happen.
