Emirates Redefines Economy Class Comfort With U-Dream Headrest

Emirates

Emirates is rolling out a multi-way adjustable headrest across its fleet, engineered specifically to eliminate the need for personal neck pillows on long-haul journeys.

Developed in partnership with Safran Seats for the airline's Z400 Economy Class seat, the leather-padded U-Dream headrest features flexible side wings that fold inward to cradle the head and neck. The unit adjusts vertically and tilts, accommodating passengers of varying heights and sleeping positions.

The new headrest are fully tested and certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and already operational on select Airbus A350 aircraft, with full A350 fleet integration scheduled by the end of 2026. Fleet-wide retrofit across existing Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft begins in 2027.
