Emirates Unveils World-First Electric Premium Economy Seat With Privacy Screen

Emirates has launched the world's first electrically powered Premium Economy seat featuring a full-height adjustable privacy screen. Debuting on the airline’s newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft, the innovation provides travellers with enhanced control over their personal space and comfort during flights.

Installed in an intimate 2-3-2 cabin layout consisting of just 28 seats, the new offering allows passengers to adjust their seating positions using an integrated Passenger Control Unit. Passengers can switch between dedicated modes, including lounge and meal settings, at the press of a button. The electric privacy divider extends to the full height of the seat and can be locked into position at any height.

The 20-inch-wide seats feature a 39-inch pitch and recline into a cradle position that avoids intruding on the space of the passenger behind. Additional features include a leather U-Dream headrest, a manual leather footrest, wireless device charging, USB-C power ports, and a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen powered by Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system. Passengers are also served gourmet regional menus on Royal Doulton fine china alongside premium beverages.

The upgrade marks a major push by the Dubai-based carrier to set a new benchmark for premium travel across its global route network.
