The UAE has ranked among the most trusting countries globally in the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer, reaffirming its position as a stable and confident nation. While many countries face declining trust due to misinformation and economic challenges, the UAE continues to stand out with high confidence in government, businesses and key societal institutions.
Edelman Trust Barometer research is a globally deployed online survey of the general population that seeks to understand why people hold the views they do and how personal attitudes interconnect to shape broader societal forces.
The survey, which polled over 33,000 respondents in 28 countries, found that 82% of people in the UAE trust their government, significantly higher than the 52% global average. Trust in business is also strong, with 76% of UAE respondents expressing confidence in businesses to act responsibly, compared to the global average of 62%.
The report also highlights strong trust in professionals and societal influencers within the UAE. Teachers (85%) and citizens (79%) enjoy high levels of trust, reflecting the importance of local connections in shaping confidence.
Moreover, optimism for the future remains high, with 60% of people in the UAE believing that the next generation will be better off than today, compared to a global average of 36%.
