Abu Dhabi’s Al Hosn Festival is back for its ninth edition, running from 25 January to 9 February at the historic Al Hosn site. Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), this annual celebration highlights the UAE’s rich cultural heritage through an engaging blend of tradition and modern creativity.
This year’s festival, themed “A Living Expression of Abu Dhabi’s Culture”, offers an immersive experience with artisan demonstrations, live Emirati music and performances, heritage activities, culinary experiences and educational workshops.
Visitors can explore the history of Abu Dhabi through the exhibits at Qasr Al Hosn, participate in workshops at the House of Artisans, and enjoy cultural programmes at the Cultural Foundation. Running daily from 4pm to 11pm, the Al Hosn Festival invites residents and visitors to immerse themselves in the UAE’s cultural richness while enjoying an unforgettable celebration of creativity and tradition.
Some of the main highlights of the festival:

Makers Space: Focused on desert and oasis lifestyles under the theme “Al Badiya Living”, showcasing traditional skills like shelter building, pottery and more. Participants can learn how to camp, go on adventures, and navigate the environment through an extensive schedule of workshops, seminars, and design showcases.

Main Show: A thrilling Tcholeeb performance, led by artists who chant poetry on horseback.

Al Teeb: A curated experience showing the history and craft of Emirati perfumery in collaboration with House of Artisans.

Sanad Al Sanaa: A production, emphasising Emirati values such as hospitality and solidarity.

Gahwa Championships: A celebration of traditional Arabic coffee-making.
