With the approval of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced a new cabinet formation in the UAE. With the new cabinet formation, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has been appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE. The announcement came in on Sunday, 14 July.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE was also appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE.
On this, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said, "His Highness Sheikh Hamdan is a true supporter. He is a leader who loves people and is loved by them. We have high confidence that he will be a valuable addition to the UAE government and a major contributor to shaping the future of the UAE."
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed added, "We also announce today, as part of the governmental amendments, the appointment of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Deputy Prime Minister in addition to His Highness Sheikh Abdullah's portfolio as Minister of Foreign Affairs."
In addition to this announcement, significant changes were made in the UAE, including the restructuring of the education, human resources and community development council.
His Excellency Dr Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar, who currently holds the position of Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation of the UAE, will also take on the role of acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the UAE.
Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, formerly serving as the Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology of the UAE, has been appointed as the new Minister of Education of the UAE.
When it comes to other ministers, His Excellency Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, who previously held the position of Minister of Education of the UAE, will now serve the role of Minister of Sports of the UAE.
Her Excellency Alia Abdullah Al Mazrouei has been appointed as the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, entrusted with fostering economic opportunities for Emiratis.
