Dubai Police, renowned for its impressive fleet of supercars, is set to elevate residential security by introducing self-driving patrols. These patrols come equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including 360-degree cameras and facial recognition capabilities. The unveiling of these self-driving security patrols at GITEX Global 2023 showcases Dubai Police's commitment to enhancing safety in residential areas.
Lieutenant Rashid bin Haidar, from Dubai Police's General Department of Administrative Affairs, presented an eco-conscious, entirely electric patrol vehicle to the attendees at the exhibition. Tailored for deployment in residential areas, the primary aim of this patrol vehicle is to augment security coverage. Furthermore, its incorporation of advanced smart technology and artificial intelligence enables the vehicle to identify criminal activities, perform facial recognition, and read license plates on vehicles.
In addition, the patrol vehicle is furnished with cutting-edge communication technologies that enable it to maintain real-time connectivity with the Command and Control Center at the Dubai Police's General Operations Department.
The self-driving patrol is additionally equipped with an onboard drone. Regarding this feature, Lieutenant Rashid bin Haidar, mentioned, "This drone can access areas that are beyond the reach of the vehicle and establishes direct wireless communication with the patrol once it's deployed."
