Expo City Dubai, a renowned Dubai attraction, has temporarily closed two popular attractions, Rashid's Garden and Garden in the Sky, from 1 October. This announcement was made on X, formerly known as Twitter. It did not specify when the two attractions would reopen.
Expo City Dubai is currently in the midst of substantial alterations as it readies itself to accommodate numerous international climate delegates for Cop28. These changes entail a balanced fusion of futuristic elements and traditional Emirati architectural designs, serving as a means to highlight the rich heritage of the region.
About the attractions, known as the 'flying park,' Garden in the Sky is a revolving observation tower that elevates visitors 55 metres above ground level, providing breathtaking panoramic city views. Its name is derived from the verdant, tree-lined upper deck, and at night, both the tower's base and the rings encircling the observation cabins are illuminated, giving the attraction a remarkable otherworldly radiance.
Whereas Rashid's Playground, located within Jubilee Park, is a lively, ocean-themed play area designed for children. It includes elements like shark structures, whale-shaped slides, ocean liner features, and an engaging interactive 3D maze model.
