One of Dubai's much-anticipated structures, Dubai Creek Tower, is being redesigned after being on hold since 2020. Dubai Creek Tower is located in Dubai Creek Harbour, which is anticipated to be twice the size of Downtown Dubai and is nestled near Ras Al Khor National Wildlife Sanctuary.
Founder of Emaar Properties, Mohamed Alabbar, has confirmed this update with Emirates News Agency, WAM and has said hopefully, the construction will begin within a year, by August 2024.
Dubai Creek Tower, once ready, will be an architectural marvel and offer several amenities to its residents. Upon completion, it will hold the capacity to house nearly 200,000 people. From a 360-degree viewing deck inspired by the Hanging Gardens of Babylon to a central plaza featuring shops, a museum, and an indoor auditorium, there's a lot in the store for Dubai-ites. However, as per WAM, Emaar is expected to reveal the new concept for the tower by April 2024 at the latest.
The plan for the tower was initially put together in October 2016 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It was supposed to be taller than Burj Khalifa, a (minimum) height of 1,300 metres, however, we still have to wait for the new design and updates.
Dubai Creek Tower, designed by Spanish-Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava, is currently in the process of being redesigned by an unnamed international company that was selected after a tender process, Alabbar confirmed with news agency WAM.
Besides this, Emaar is all set to deliver around 45 new towers containing 15,000 apartments in 2023.
