UAE-Funded Hospital In Chad Treats Over 6,000 Patients

WAM

The UAE-funded field hospital in Amdjarass, Chad, has received and treated a total of 6,110 Sudanese refugees, since its opening in July.

The medical team has also performed 54 surgeries at the hospital.

The field hospital was set up to provide humanitarian relief and medical support for Sudanese refugees, after a conflict began on 15 April in Sudan, between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the parliamentary group called the Rapid Support Forces. This led many people to seek refuge in neighbouring countries including Chad.

The UAE humanitarian team in Chad regularly visit the hospital to check on the patient's conditions, provide psychological support, and monitor their health status. The team comprises of the Emirates Red Crescent, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, along with the UAE's Office for Aid Coordination in Chad.
