During the first month since opening, the UAE field hospital in Amdjarass, Chad, has treated 3,509 patients.
Over 24 surgeries were performed at the hospital, and 1,897 adults as well as 1,612 children were treated.
The conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the parliamentary group called the Rapid Support Forces, began on 15 April in Sudan, and led to many people seeking refuge in neighbouring countries. The field hospital, established by the UAE, aims to provide humanitarian, relief and medical aid to Sudanese refugees residing in Chad.
