The Green Planet To Unveil Blue Whale Recycled Sculpture

The Green Planet, the indoor tropical biodome, along with GEMS Legacy School have partnered to create a 18-metre blue whale sculpture, made out of recycled plastic.

Students and teachers from the school teamed up to create the sculpture.

The sculpture was made with 8,000 plastic bottles and 1,000 plastic bags, and took over 800 hours to create.

The blue whale sculpture will be revealed on 5 June at The Green Planet and will be available to view until 30 June.

In line with World Environment Day celebrated on 5 June, the sculpture will help in raising awareness of the detrimental effects of plastic pollution on the environment, and encourage individuals to make small changes to protect the planet.
