How would you describe your teaching style?

My teaching style is more of a hands on method of learning through actively encouraging my students to learn by doing. This style of teaching helps my students observe and understand what is being taught to them.

Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I wanted to experience the difference one teacher can make to their students understanding and learning. As a teacher, you get to help develop each student’s individual characters and helping them with certain skill sets in which they will use later on in life.

Your best moment as a teacher?

When the children work extremely hard practising for big calendar events by showing all their parents what they have learnt over a short period of time.

Your worst moment?

Children who have had a lot of time off from the nursery and then come back finding it hard to settle back in.

One sentence of advice to parents?

To always trust and believe in the nursery their children go to, as this will help their children be more confident and happy whilst at nursery.

One sentence of advice to someone wanting to enter the profession?

If you really want to become a teacher then you must have a lot of patience, be persistent and professional at all times.

What was something funny that happened in your classroom?

Watching the little girls imitate being a teacher around the classroom; showing the boys right from wrong!

What would your life quote be?

The good life is one inspired by love and guided by knowledge.

Charlotte Fry is a nursery teacher at Hopscotch Nursery.
