Looking for a weekend of fun the whole family can enjoy? GameExpo is back at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 9 to 11 May, as part of the Dubai Esports and Games Festival (DEF), promising three action-packed days filled with games, competitions, and exciting entertainment for all ages.
Whether your children love video games, cosplay, dance-offs or just trying something new, GameExpo offers something for every member of the family. Spread across DWTC's Za’abeel Halls 2 and 3, this event features eight themed gaming zones, including safe and interactive spaces designed especially with families in mind.
Families will love the Emirates NBD Family Zone, where children and parents can play side-by-side on consoles like Xbox and Nintendo Switch, with age-appropriate titles and family-friendly challenges. It’s the perfect way to bond, play and discover new games together.
For those interested in competitive gaming, there’s the chance to watch or join live esports tournaments, including crowd favourites like FC25, PUBG Mobile and League of Legends.
New this year is The Quest, an interactive challenge zone where gamers can test real-life problem-solving and physical skills. There’s also the Just Dance Zone, where families can jump into live dance competitions and enjoy high-energy fun on stage.
The whole family can explore zones like the Retro Zone, where classic games from the past spark nostalgia for parents and introduce young ones to the roots of gaming, and the Gaming District, filled with the latest releases and previews.
GameExpo also includes The Narrows, a lively market where local artists and makers showcase unique gaming merchandise, and the Gamers’ Garage, which offers great deals on electronics and accessories, perfect for any tech-loving teen.
Don’t miss the exciting Play Beyond on 10 and 11 May, featuring regional gaming influencers like Abo Flah. Children or adult gamers can meet their favourite content creators, ask questions, and see what’s new in the world of gaming.
If your child loves dressing up, mark your calendar for 11 May, when the Dubai Cosplay Championship takes place. With cash prizes of up to Dhs 30,000, it’s a great opportunity for young fans to showcase their creativity or simply enjoy the colourful costumes.
One-day pass to GameExpo are available with tickets starting from Dhs 39 for students and Dhs 69 for adults. For more details, visit DEF's official website.
