REVIEW: Rosa’s Thai, Dubai Hills Mall - Casual Thai Dining That Gets The Details Right

If you’re looking for authentic Thai food in Dubai, Rosa’s Thai at Dubai Hills Mall is worth a detour. Originating from London’s street food scene, expanding to over 40 outlets across the United Kingdom, two years since opening a branch in Dubai on JBR, this popular Thai restaurant has opened a second Dubai outlet, with a relaxed, approachable vibe and a menu full of familiar Thai classics done well.

Located opposite the cinema in Dubai Hills Mall, Rosa’s Thai strikes a balance between casual dining and solid execution. The space is clean and modern, with bright colours and warm service that makes you feel welcome without the over-the-top flash some mall restaurants go for.

The menu keeps things simple with soups, salads, curries and stir-fries, but the quality stands out. The pad Thai and green curry are an absolute must-try and the tom yum soup keeps you reaching out for more. The stir-fried aubergine is surprise hit, bold, smoky, and full of flavour. Dessert is always a must try and for us it had to be a very healthy portion of the classic mango sticky rice, rich, fragrant and perfectly balanced, with juicy mango slices.  What sets Rosa’s Thai apart from other Thai restaurants in Dubai is the attention to ingredients. Many of the core elements, like the curry pastes, are sourced directly from Thailand by co-founder Chef Saiphin herself, and exclusive to the restaurant, lending the dishes a noticeable depth of flavour.

Service is friendly and efficient, and prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality. Whether you're looking for great Thai food or just a solid spot for comforting Southeast Asian food, Rosa’s Thai delivers.
