One tonne of waste was collected during the Clean Up UAE 2017 campaign, which begun on Tuesday in Dibba, Al Fujairah.
Over 150 enthusiastic participants registered, mainly students from local schools, equipped with biodegradable trash bags, cotton reusable gloves, branded caps and t-shirts, and picked up rubbish in Fujairah.
The campaign was organised by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) in association with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development.
The campaign is very much aligned with the core principle of giving back to nature as 2017 is the Year of Giving.
