We all know that drinking green tea has its benefits but did you know that it is great for your skin too? Green tea is packed full of antioxidants and regenerative qualities that would do wonders for your skin. Mixed with a few other natural ingredients, these easy to make green tea facials are sure to give your skin the ultimate at-home session of rejuvenation.
Green tea facial scrub
- 1 tbs of ground green tea leaves
- 1 tbs of honey
Mix both ingredients to make a paste. Apply it onto your face and scrub for a good 2 minutes before allowing it to rest on your face for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse the excess with water. The slightly course texture of the tea leaves will act like an exfoliator, gently removing the layer of impurities and dead skin on your face.
Anti-acne green tea mask
- 1 tbs of green tea powder
- 1 tbs of honey
- 1 egg white
Mix all the ingredients together and generously apply all over your face. Let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes and then rinse the excess with a gentle cleanser. Because it is filled with catechins, green tea suppresses acne-causing bacteria and regulates hormonal imbalances. Honey is loaded with antioxidants and healing compounds. It also possesses anti-inflammatory qualities that reduce inflammation and redness caused by acne.
Anti-ageing green tea mask
- 1 tbs green tea power
- 1 tbs of honey
- 2 tbs of yoghurt
Like with the previous mask, mix all the ingredients together and apply all over your face, allowing it to sit for 20 minutes before rinsing the excess. Green tea contains certain compounds that reactivate dying skin cells. It also contains very powerful antioxidants that help reverse premature aging by fighting free radicals and healing damaged cells. Mixed with the honey and yoghurt, this mask will make your complexion more moist and supple.
