Cocoona is a surgical day centre and medical spa that offers a variety of cosmetic and medical services. I was looking to clear up my minor acne, pigmentation, and large congested pores. I had a consultation with the beauty therapist Anna about what skin treatment would be best for me.
What’s involved?
The treatment started with a light cleanse, followed by a papaya enzyme peel combined with steam and ozone gas to open pores and kill bacteria. As my main problems were identified as large pores and blackheads on my nose and cheek area, as well as milia (stubborn raised white spots under the eyes), she focused on extraction on those particular areas. Next, the acne peel was applied; which consisted of a 40% glycolic acid and 2% salicylic acid concentration for exfoliation and resurfacing, applied in 3 layers. After a couple of minutes I felt a mild burning that was surprisingly tolerable compared to other treatments I’ve endured. It was neutralised and cleansed off, and the whole treatment ended with a calming mask, oil free moisturiser and an SPF, of course!
What are the results?
This is definitely one of the most effective facials I’ve ever had, with minimal pain and invasiveness. The thorough extractions left me with visibly clearer and smaller pores, and smooth bump-free undereyes. My skin was noticeably smoother and visibly glowing. A really fantastic fix for problematic skin. Definitely my new go-to treatment to maintain a clearer complexion!
