Abu Dhabi Police has reminded drivers that hefty fines are applicable to individuals jumping red lights.
On driving through a red light, drivers will be penalised with a Dhs 1,000 fine, 12 black traffic points, and get their vehicle impounded for 30 days.
To release the vehicle from being impounded, a fine of Dhs 50,000 needs to be paid with the driver's licence also being revoked for six months.
The vehicle can remain being impounded for three months and if the dues are not paid within the time period, it will be put up for a public auction.
