Students from Dubai schools stand a chance to win a grand prize from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) for taking part in its summer campaign #8WeekStreak.
From 8 July to 30 August, students are encouraged to try something new each week as part of the initiative. The motive behind the campaign is to promote love for learning new things and all students from Dubai schools can take part regardless of their age or whether they are in Dubai or holidaying around the world.
To participate, students – or their parents – have to post pictures of themselves doing a new activity on Twitter or Instagram using the #8WeekStreak hashtag. Activities can range from learning to play a new instrument, volunteering for a good cause, trying a new sport, or making a new friend.
Participants stand to win weekly prizes, as well as one grand prize for a student who posts for eight consecutive weeks.
Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Director General of the KHDA said, “Summer holidays are a perfect time for students to continue challenging themselves by developing new interests or pursuing their passion. Students will also learn to harness the positive power of social media by sharing what they’re learning with the wider community and inspiring others to do the same.”
