The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has some new employees. The new members of staff are slightly unusual, however, because they are robots.
DEWA has announced that it has recruited five robots at its Customer Happiness Centres with the goal of enriching customer experiences. The robots are said to contribute to better quality services for DEWA customers.
The MD and CEO of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer hopes that Dubai will become a “sustainable, innovative world-class utility.” Al Tayer said that, ultimately, the new system will reduce the number of customers in Dubai Government offices by 80 per cent by 2018.
