The UAE has expressed its solidarity with India following devastating floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall across the country, especially in the north-east region, which caused dozens of deaths and significant damage to properties.
In a statement, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery to the injured. The Ministry also reaffirmed its support for the government and people of India during this difficult time.
At least 34 people have died in the states of Sikkim and Meghalaya, where rescue efforts are underway. Over 1,000 stranded tourists are being evacuated from the Himalayan region, while military teams have been deployed to assist more than 500 residents trapped by rising floodwaters.
