Budget airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has officially ceased operations from this month, marking the end of the carrier’s presence in the capital. With its closure, travellers may wonder whether low-cost European getaways from the UAE are still on the table.
The good news is: yes, they are. While Wizz Air Abu Dhabi no longer exists, the wider Wizz Air group continues to operate flights between the UAE and several European destinations through its other subsidiaries.
Wizz Air Hungary currently runs flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to select cities in countries such as Hungary, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Poland. Wizz Air Malta also maintains routes connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi with Romania.
In fact, starting November, travellers can once again fly directly from Abu Dhabi to Larnaca in Cyprus, on Wizz Air Hungary, a route that had been on pause but is now returning due to strong demand.
For those looking for affordable trips between the UAE and Europe, Wizz Air continues to provide options even after the Abu Dhabi chapter has closed. You can check more flight details on Wizz Air's official webpage.
