Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced free parking across public parking zones this Friday, 5 September, to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). However, free parking does not apply to multi-level parking facilities and Al Khail Gate parking. Normal parking fees will resume on Saturday, 6 September.
Public transport schedules have been extended for the holiday. The Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines will run from 5am until 1am the following day, while Dubai Tram will operate from 6am until 1am. Bus users are advised to check the S’hail app for updated timings, and those using marine transport can find details on RTA’s official website.
Residents should also note that RTA’s customer happiness centres and vehicle testing centres will be closed on Friday. However, smart customer happiness centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Tawar and the RTA’s head office will continue to operate around the clock.
These changes aim to provide residents and visitors with more convenience while moving around the city during the long weekend.
