Dubai commuters will soon have a smoother journey during peak hours, thanks to a new route added to Dubai Metro's Red Line.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that trains in Red Line will now operate a shorter route between Centrepoint station and Al Fardan Exchange station during busy hours, from 7am to 9am and 4pm to 8pm. Centrepoint station sits at one end of the Red Line near Al Rashidiya, while Al Fardan Exchange, previously known as Al Khail station, is located between Dubai Internet City station and Sobha Realty station in Dubai Marina.
This additional service is designed to ease crowding and give passengers more options during the city’s busiest travel times. It will complement the two existing direct routes in Dubai Metro's Red Line, namely, those running between Centrepoint station and Expo City station, and between Centrepoint station and Life Pharmacy station, which will continue running as usual.
For those who rely on Dubai Metro daily, this means less waiting, quicker trips, and a more comfortable commute. The move reflects the city’s ongoing efforts to improve public transport efficiency and keep up with the growing demand.
