Dubai International Airport (DXB) is gearing up for one of its busiest periods this year, with more than 3.4 million passengers expected to pass through its terminals between 27 June and 9 July. The surge coincides with the Islamic New Year holiday and the start of summer school vacations across the UAE.
Passenger volumes are forecast to average over 265,000 per day, with 5 July predicted to be the single busiest day for both departures and transit traffic.
DXB has activated its summer readiness plan to ensure safe and smooth operations during the peak season. The airport’s teams, along with airline and service partners, are working round the clock to minimise disruptions and support travellers.
Airlines like Emirates have already issued advice for travellers during the peak summer travel season. Now, DXB encourages travellers to follow these key tips to ensure a smooth airport experience:
-
Arrive at least 3 hours before departure.
-
Use online check-in and self-service kiosks at Terminal 3 to save time.
-
Children over 12 years can speed through passport control using Smart Gates.
-
DUBZ home check-in service allows passengers to check in and drop luggage from their home or hotel.
-
Navigate the airport easily with DXB Express Maps by scanning the QR code available throughout the terminal.
-
Enhanced support is available for People of Determination, including a dedicated assisted travel lounge in DXB Terminal 2.
