Here Is Why DXB Feels Busier Than Before

If you’ve noticed Dubai International Airport (DXB) feeling busier lately, here's why.

DXB welcomed 23.4 million passengers in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, a 1.5% increase from the traffic recorded during the same period last year. In fact, January this year was the busiest month in DXB’s history, with 8.5 million guests passing through in just four weeks. This reflects Dubai's rising international appeal as a travel and tourism destination.

Despite the record traffic, Dubai Airports says operations ran smoothly, thanks to strong coordination between airport teams, airlines, and government partners.

Top destinations for travellers from DXB in Q1 included India with 3 million guests, Saudi Arabia with 1.9 million, and the UK with 1.5 million. Popular cities, from where guests arrived in Dubai, included London, Riyadh, Jeddah, Mumbai, and New Delhi, reflecting strong family, business, and tourism ties.

Notably, DXB was also recently named the world’s busiest international airport by Airports Council International.

Dubai residents and regular travellers are advised to plan their travel early, particularly during holiday periods, and stay updated with the flight and traffic information.
