Dubai International Airport Tops Global Rankings For International Passenger Traffic

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has once again claimed the top spot as the world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic, according to the latest announcement by Airports Council International (ACI) World. DXB saw over 92 million international passengers in 2024, marking a 6.1 percent increase over the international air passenger traffic in 2023.

While DXB leads in international passenger numbers for the year 2024, in total passenger traffic, which includes passengers travelling in both domestic and international flights, DXB ranks second globally, behind Atlanta International Airport

The latest ranking reinforces Dubai’s status as one of the most important international transit points and a major economic and tourism hub. With growing passenger demand and world-class infrastructure, Dubai continues to attract millions of travellers each year, supporting its long-term goals in tourism and economic growth

ACI's announcement also highlights that the global air travel in 2024 increased strongly, with nearly 5 billion passengers recorded, a 9 percent increase from 2023 numbers. To see more details, visit ACI's website.
