If your go-to restaurant has a stunning fountain view, you might have noticed some changes recently, and so have the owners. With the Dubai Fountain now temporarily closed for renovation until October, Emaar Malls Management has stepped in to support more than 50 restaurants whose terrace dining depends on the crowds drawn by the iconic water shows.
The affected tenants include restaurants with lake and fountain-facing terraces at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar. A full four-month rent waiver from June to September is offered by Emaar to help offset the potential drop in foot traffic. The initiative aims to cushion any loss in customer flow during the quieter months while renovation works are underway.
To keep the area lively, 400 metres of high-tech digital screens will be installed across the promenade. These will display dynamic visuals to attract and engage visitors, creating a refreshed vibe even without the fountain shows.
For years, restaurants in this area have thrived on the ambience of the waterfront and the hourly fountain shows. Emaar’s move recognises that impact and provides real-time support while helping tenants transition through the temporary shift in visitor dynamics.
