Dubai motorists have started noticing new parking zone codes replacing the previous classifications of A, B, C and D, which are now labelled AP, BP, CP and DP, respectively. Despite the reclassification, parking rates remain unchanged for now, with variable pricing set to be introduced in April.
Parkin PJSC, the city's largest public parking operator, has begun installing updated signage across Dubai, signalling a transition to the new system. The company has also notified customers via its mobile app, confirming that only the zone codes have changed at this stage, while tariffs will be updated later. Those who hold a seasonal parking pass for zones A, B, C and D need not pay any additional parking rates at this point.
Starting April, Dubai will implement a new parking fee structure featuring variable rates based on peak and off-peak hours, affecting both standard and premium zones. This aims to optimise parking availability and manage congestion in high-demand areas. For more details on Dubai’s new variable parking fees, check out Connector’s coverage and this update.
Beyond the main zones, other parking areas in commercial hubs will continue to have their unique codes, including:
- E, I, J, K, L – Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT)
- F – Knowledge Village, Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City
- G – Burj Khalifa, Marasi Bay, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai Hills
- H – Dubai Silicon Oasis
- X – Dubai World Trade Centre, where parking costs Dhs 25 per hour during events
