Dubai’s public parking operator, Parkin PJSC, has announced the launch of a variable parking tariff for areas surrounding event venues, effective Monday, 17 February. The initiative aims to manage high traffic volumes during major events such as conferences, exhibitions, concerts and festivals.
The Dubai World Trade Centre, where Gulfood 2025 is set to take place from 17 to 21 February, has been designated as a ‘Grand Event Zone’, where parking will cost Dhs 25 per hour during scheduled events. Parkin recommends using public transport for visitors heading to event areas to ease congestion.
Additionally, premium parking spaces will be designated to high-demand areas such as metro and bus stations and also major shopping destinations. More details regarding the applicable zones and the updated tariff rates will be announced in a subsequent press release, Parkin announced. Peak hour tariffs and premium zone tariffs will come into effect starting March this year.
Earlier this month, Zone F parking fees—covering Al Sufouh 2, Knowledge Village, Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City—were increased, with parking hours extended from 8am to 10pm. See the coverage by Connector HERE.
