Liwa Board In Al Dhafra Sets Guinness World Record

The UAE has once again secured a Guinness World Record. Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra Region Municipality achieved this record with the tallest landmark sign for the Liwa board. Officially recognised as the world’s largest sign, it stands 221 metres tall and weighs 49 tonnes. 

This impressive metal installation, located 197 metres above sea level on a hill, is part of Al Dhafra Region Municipality’s initiatives to enhance the region’s appeal as a premier culture and tourism destination in Abu Dhabi. This achievement adds another prestigious record to the UAE’s growing list of world-renowned accomplishments.

Other Recent Guinness World Records By UAE In 2024 

In January 2024, The Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) secured a Guinness World Record for organising the largest agriculture lesson globally. Held at Gracia Farm in Al Bahia, the event saw over 290 participants, consisting of hotel staff, students, organic farming practitioners, and experienced farmers coming together for this incredible achievement.

In March 2024, Dubai's One Za’abeel, developed by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, secured the Guinness World Record title for the ‘Longest Cantilevered Building’ with its stunning panoramic sky concourse, The Link.
