Today's UAE weather will be fair to partly cloudy, with the possibility of clouds appearing eastward by the afternoon, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The NCM has issued red and yellow alerts due to thick fog, warning residents of reduced visibility until 10am today.
To ensure safety, the Abu Dhabi Police have activated a speed reduction system to 80 kmh on specific roads in the Emirates. These include Ghayathi to Bidae Road, Abu Dhabi to Al Ain Road (Tilal Swaihan to Kubri Bridge), (Alsaahil Station to Hameem), (Madinat Zayed to Al Mirfa), and Al Ain to Dubai Road (Al Jubaib to Al Hiyar).
Motorists are urged to ride cautiously due to reduced visibility and to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
Tonight and Saturday morning are expected to be humid, with a chance of fog or mist formation over some coastal and internal areas.
Light to moderate winds are anticipated, occasionally freshening westward. The sea is expected to be slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
