His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Meets King Charles III At COP28 Summit

The COP28 Summit has officially commenced, hosting a 13-day conference at Expo City in Dubai. With the participation of more than 170 countries, the event serves as a gathering for heads of state, government officials, industry leaders, private sector representatives, academics, experts, youth, and non-state actors. 

On the second day of the summit, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, held a meeting with His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland during the official reception for delegations attending the 28th UN climate summit, the Conference of the Parties (COP28), on 1 December.

Additionally present at the meeting was His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, as well as the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

In the course of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan expressed a warm welcome to His Majesty King Charles III, commending his active involvement in the summit and applauding his dedicated initiatives to drive climate action. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan highlighted King Charles's unwavering commitment to raising awareness about the environmental and economic hazards posed by climate change on a global scale. 

Emphasising a shared vision, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan restated the commitment of the UAE and the United Kingdom to mobilise a powerful global movement, aiming to prompt rapid and resolute measures for a sustainable future for the planet.
