Due to adverse weather conditions in the UAE, all government employees in Dubai, except those with on-site roles, will work remotely on Friday, 27 October. The announcement was made on social media by the Dubai Media Office.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, the post read, "Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, tomorrow, Friday, 27 October, 2023, will be a remote working day for employees of all Dubai government entities, due to weather conditions. This applies to all government employees in Dubai, except for roles that need on-site presence at the workplace."

In fact, in the evening, Dubai Police also issued an alert and urged passengers departing and arriving at Dubai Airports to use the metro due to traffic congestion on the roads.

In terms of weather conditions in the UAE, parts of Dubai have been affected majorly due to the flooding brought by thunderstorms that hit the city on Thursday. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), rain is anticipated on Friday, and the unstable weather is likely to persist. The skies are forecasted to be occasionally cloudy with varying levels of rainfall and thunder in scattered areas.
