Dubai residents get ready to observe the final eclipse of the year in Dubai on Saturday, 28 October.
This weekend, the UAE's night sky will be adorned by a partial lunar eclipse, allowing you to witness a portion of the Moon entering the Earth's shadow with the naked eye.
A partial lunar eclipse is a rare event that happens once or twice a year, with the most recent one occurring in May 2023. In this phenomenon, the Earth positions itself between the Sun and the Moon, causing a shadow to be cast on the Moon's surface.
The partial lunar eclipse scheduled for Saturday, 28 October, can be observed in the UAE between 10pm and 2.30am, with the peak of the eclipse occurring at 12.14am.
For those passionate about space and stargazing, Dubai Astronomy Group is organising an event for the upcoming partial lunar eclipse at the Al Thuraya Astronomy Centre. The event begins at 9pm, and the general admission ticket is available for Dhs 60. During this 4-hour event, you'll not only gain insights into the lunar eclipse occurrence but also have the opportunity to observe the Moon using their telescope throughout the event. Registration for this event can be completed on the Dubai Astronomy website.
