Bad Weather Conditions Delay Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi’s Return To Earth

UAE Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi's return to Earth gets delayed due to bad weather conditions. The Emirati astronaut was due to begin his Earth journey at 5.05pm UAE time on Saturday 2 September, however, he will leave at 3.05pm on Sunday 3 September, and arrive at 8.07am UAE time on Monday 4 September, pending weather evaluations.  

US space agency- NASA announced the delay, mentioning poor weather conditions near the splashdown site off the coast of Florida. Sultan Al Neyadi will return on Monday after spending six months on the International Space Station (ISS) and close a historic six-month mission aboard. He will be joined by his Crew-6 colleagues, NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, and Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. Sultan Al Neyadi has conducted over 200 scientific experiments and outreach activities during his time in space. 

Furthermore, he broke several records by being a part of the Arab World's first long-duration space mission, and made history by becoming the first Arab to perform a spacewalk. Upon returning, Sultan Al Neyadi will spend the first few days undergoing medical tests in the US and then head back to the UAE, for celebrations.
