All We Need is Love: Step 2 - Be Present

Do you want more love, happiness and passion in 2017?

One of the biggest issues we face in today’s society is that there are so many distractions. Imagine you have been really looking forward to seeing your partner when he/she gets back and that you have some very exciting news to tell them. Yet when they walk through the door they are on their phone. They walk past you, nod, then head straight to the fridge and carry on talking. How do you feel? Do you spend more time on your phone, watching TV or scrolling the Internet than you do interacting with your spouse? If we are not present for our partner resentment and distance can occur, no one likes to feel ignored or unimportant, especially in their own home. So, what is the solution? Embrace each other at least three times a day: morning, after work and before bed with a hug or kiss. Look them in the eye and ask them how their day was and really listen, giving your full attention. It will pay off. They will feel appreciated, valued and noticed and will reciprocate. Be present even if it is just for 20 minutes a day and you will soon reap the benefits of a more fulfilled and happier relationship.
