When I first moved to Dubai 11 years ago it never occurred to me that finding someone to cut and colour my fine blond hair would be an issue. Those first few years saw me go through some pretty interesting colours and cuts, all of which were met with a bewildered ‘what have you done now?’ wail from the husband. So, when my go-to colour specialist Patrick, opened the doors to his first salon I’d descended before he’d had time to plug in a hairdryer!
Located at Viceroy Palm Jumeirah, Say Hair Salon is the uber chic little hideaway for all your hair needs. Here you’ll find a mixture of the best of western and middle eastern hairdressing with 50% of the staff western and 50% Arabic. There’s a huge colour bar with over 360 intermixable shades from some of the best brands including L’Oreal and Wella. A private room is available, and you can get your nails glitzed at the same time.
Say understand the best products for their client’s hair, they use a mix of carbon and ammonia free, sulphate and paraben free products and even ship the foil they use for colours in from the UK.
What’s involved?
After a brief conversation about the colour I usually let Patrick guide me, it’s generally a mix of highlights and lowlights. The strands he picks up for the foils are fine and intricately weaved which always guarantees a really natural looking colour. In need of a haircut I was totally willing to let Nino wield his scissors and I was glad I did.
What are the results?
Absolutely fabulous colour, cut and style! I love it, the colour is perfect for my skin tone and the shape is great. For me a really good cut means that I can style it myself quite easily, and I can. I had quite a few compliments after this dynamic duo worked their magic!
