Dubai is turning up the heat on summer sports with the return of the 'Our Summer is Sporty' initiative. Running until end of August, the campaign by Dubai Sports Council brings an impressive lineup of snow, mountain, water and indoor activities aimed at getting residents and visitors of all ages and abilities moving.
Highlights include the region’s first-ever Snow Duathlon at Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates on 29 June, along with snow yoga, women’s fitness sessions and adaptive skiing for People of Determination.
There will also be mountain hiking, night walks and trail runs in Hatta. There’s also wakeboarding, kayaking, and stand-up paddling along Jumeirah’s waterfront.
If you prefer your cardio cool and controlled, head to one of Dubai’s indoor mall races. These races will take place at Dubai Hills Mall on 28 June and 13 July, City Centre Mirdif on 6 July, Ibn Battuta Mall on 13 July, Mall of the Emirates on 3 August, Wafi Mall on 10 August, and Dubai Festival City Mall on 31 August. These events offer a fun, air-conditioned way to stay fit this summer.
For young ones, multi-sport summer camps in gymnastics, swimming and skating will be held at Dubai Sports World and Danube Sports World from 30 June to 22 August, offering expert coaching and safe facilities. Senior citizens and People of Determination are also part of the action, with inclusive fitness programmes and dedicated events.
