Abu Dhabi is set to welcome the world’s top jiu-jitsu talent this November as the seventeenth Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship takes place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
Recognised as the world’s largest and most prestigious event on the jiu-jitsu calendar, the championship, taking place in Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, will feature more than 10,000 male and female athletes competing across multiple categories.
The 11-day event begins on 12 November with Amateur competitions, followed by the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival from 13 to 15 November, which includes contests for children and juniors, as well as Para Jiu-Jitsu on 13 November. Youth and Junior category competitions will be held on 16 and 17 November, followed by the Master events on 18 and 19 November, and the tournament will close with Professional competitions from 20 to 22 November.
