It’s your final chance to visit Global Village this season as the multicultural attraction is set to close on Sunday, 11 May. Even though it’s getting hotter, the cooler evenings are still perfect for exploring the venue one last time.
Global Village opens daily from 4pm to 1am. Tickets start at Dhs 25 and give you access to pavilions, shows, food stalls, rides and more.
if you are wondering what you could do this week at Global Village, here are some suggestions.
One of the main highlights is the Golden Bar Challenge which runs until 11 May, where three lucky winners walk away with Dhs 2,900 in cash each night. It runs daily from 8pm to 9pm at the Restaurant Plaza. All you need to do is remove a gold bar in 29 seconds or less, although it is not as easy as you'd expect. To participate, download the Global Village app and scan the QR code at the challenge area.
This year, Secrets of the Lost City has been a popular attraction. It’s a Mayan temple-themed adventure that mixes theatre, puzzles, and treasure hunts. Led by actors posing as archaeologists, it’s open to visitors aged 10 and above and designed to feel like a live escape room.
Guests will also be able to access unlimited Carnaval rides at just Dhs 50 this week. This include options like 60-metre Festival Wheel, Global Burj or children-friendly options as well. All children, who are 12 and under, can enter Global Village for free until its closure on Sunday. To see more about what's available for children, check out Connector's story HERE.
If shopping is your thing, this is your last chance to explore 30 cultural pavilions, including new ones from Jordan, Iraq, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. You’ll find local treats like cinnamon, olive oil, and handmade souvenirs that offer a glimpse into each country’s culture. And of course, you could also explore the food stalls and enjoy new offerings at places like Restaurant Plaza.
Also, keep an eye out for the upcoming shows and events this week. Find more details at Global Village's official website.
